PPS Board of Trustees Gets New Chairperson

Gomba Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Sylvia Nayebale is the new Chairperson of the Parliamentary Pension Scheme (PPS) Board of Trustees following her election on 31 July 2026.
She was sworn in at a ceremony presided over by the General Counsel to the Parliament of Uganda, who also administered the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy to two other trustees who included Hon. Abubaker Kawalya and Hon. Jesca Ababiku. A Trustee may serve for a period of five years but eligible to serve one extra term.
Hon. Nayebale was elected to lead the Board, succeeding Hon. Rwakajara Katambuka Arinaitwe who exited after serving for the period 2021-2026. In her remarks, Nayebale thanked fellow trustees for the vote of confidence to be their chairperson. She committed to serving the scheme diligently.
The Parliamentary Pension Scheme is governed by the Board of Trustees appointed in accordance with Section 18 of the Parliamentary Pensions Act, 2007 and regulated by the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA).
